Preserving the Legacy International Aikido Seminar
Join us for a special seminar with Lewis Bernaldo de Quiros and Hoa Newens, both of whom trained directly under Morihiro Saito in Iwama, Japan. This seminar offers a rare opportunity to study with teachers who have spent decades preserving and transmitting the principles, structure, and spirit of traditional Iwama Aikido.
Over three immersive days, participants will engage in focused training in both taijutsu and bukiwaza, exploring the deep relationship between empty-hand technique and the sword and jo practices that form the foundation of Takemusu Aiki. Beyond technical instruction, the seminar will emphasize the underlying principles of posture, timing, connection, centered movement, and precise basics that define the Iwama method.
Whether you are new to Aikido or have trained for many years, this seminar is designed to deepen your understanding of the roots of Iwama Aikido and strengthen your connection to its traditional forms of practice and transmission.
